Shampoo and soap bars

A while ago, I started making my own shampoo bars, soap bars, and scented candles. It’s really fun to do!

I wanted to get rid of the plastic bottles in my bathroom and at the same time use a shampoo to take good care of my (long) hair.

The bars can be used as both shampoo and soap.

Despite using natural products, you might still react poorly to certain elements. I’m not a doctor, so make sure you do your own research before using any products!

What’s in the bars?

• Organic aloe vera soap base from Greenum
• Argan oil (brand Yari)
• Castor oil (brand Yari)
• Vitamin E oil (brand Yari)
• Essential oil (orange, peppermint, lavender, jasmine, rosemary, or rose)
• Skin-friendly colorant
• Dried herbs from my own garden (if desired, seasonal)

The weight per bar is approximately 70g, the price depends on the place of purchase due to shipping costs. The bars are handmade in the Netherlands.

Choices:

Calm – yellow bar with dried chamomile and jasmine scent

Rest – purple bar with dried lavender and lavender scent

Boost – green bar with  dried rosemary and sage and rosemary scent

Sweet – pink bar with rose scent

Fresh – blue bar with peppermint scent

Fruity – orange bar with orange scent

It might take some time to get used to using a shampoo bar instead of regular shampoo, especially if you have long hair. The bar foams la bit less than liquid shampoo but definitely does its job (tip: apply the soap to a bath sponge).

A bar lasts a long time (I use my bar on a daily basis and it lasts for approximately two months).  You can also easily take it in your hand luggage 🙂

Store your bar dry, for example, a sisal bag that you can hang. A small laundry bag is also fine.
